Install the chat in a React Native app

Updated October 28, 2026

The React Native SDK adds your App’s chat to your iOS and Android app. Your Contacts write there as they do on your site, and their messages arrive in the same inbox.

Using an AI assistant in your code editor? In App settings > Developers > Getting started, pick “With your AI assistant” and copy the Setup prompt, also in Documentation > Quick start. It installs the chat for you, then tells you what it did.

  1. Open App settings > Developers > Getting started. The App already has a platform? Click “Add a platform”. In “Choose your platform”, click the “React Native” card, then “Next step”.
  2. In “Set your Bundle ID and Package name”, type your app’s “Bundle ID (iOS)” and “Package name (Android)”, for example com.kibomarket.app. The chat shows in no other app. Optional for a first try, needed for a development build.
  3. Pick what your app is built with: Expo, Expo Router or React Native CLI. Then click “Open the guide”.
  4. Follow the guide in the documentation: it opens on your project, with your App’s key already in the code. Choose the storage and photo picker your app already has: the commands install only what is missing, plus expo-application or react-native-device-info, which reads your app’s ID.
  5. Come back to Getting started: the install is ticked as soon as your app connects. Done but not built yet? Click “Next step”.
  6. Before publishing, run a release build of the app with its Bundle ID or Package name and open the chat: the app moves to Production by itself. See Development and Production Modes.
