Suspend or restore a member
Updated October 19, 2026
Suspend a member who is leaving the company or should no longer have access. They no longer see the company, even in a tab already open.
- Open Company settings > Members.
- On the member’s row, open the three-dot menu, “Actions for Awa” for example, then choose “Suspend”.
- Click “Suspend” to confirm.
What happens
- The company leaves their list: they can no longer open its inbox, its Apps or its settings.
- If they have no company left, they see “You no longer have access to any company” when they sign in, with “Create a company” and “Sign out”.
- They get no more alerts from the company and no longer count as a member online.
- Their conversations stay assigned to them, marked “(suspended)”. Another member can reassign them.
- Their place in your Plan is freed.
- Their other companies do not change.
Restore a member
Suspended members stay in the list, marked “Suspended”. On their row, open the three-dot menu, choose “Restore”, then confirm with “Restore”. They get the company back with the same Role and access.
Restoring a member takes a place in your Plan. If the Plan is full, the window offers the next Plan, with a button such as “Move to Small business” to pay right away.
The Owner cannot be suspended, and nobody can suspend themselves. A suspended person cannot be invited again: restore them. Suspending and restoring are for Admins and the Owner only.
