Understand a Contact’s profile
Updated October 27, 2026
Open a Contact from the Contacts page, or click “Show the Contact” in a conversation.
- Name and email: sent by your App for a Verified Contact, or the email the Contact left in the chat. An Anonymous Contact shows as Anonymous followed by a short code.
- The Verified, Not verified and Blocked badges. In a conversation’s panel, a Contact with no name or email carries the Anonymous badge.
- App user ID: the ID your App gives for the signed-in person, on a Verified Contact. On a Contact who is not verified, the row reads “User ID given”: given by this device without the code, it may not be this person.
- Phone: sent by your App, when it gives one.
- Platform: the device’s browser and system.
- Language: the one your App gave, or else the device’s, written out in full, for example Wolof or Portuguese (Brazil).
- Country: the one the Contact wrote their last message from, with its flag, read from their connection, on the web as in a mobile app. When their connection does not tell, it comes from their device settings and reads “(estimated)”. A VPN shows the VPN’s country.
- First seen and last seen.
- Custom attributes: the details your App sends about the Contact, such as their city or number of orders.
This information comes from the chat and from your App: it cannot be changed from the dashboard. The Contact’s IP address is never stored, only their country.
On the Contacts page, the “Country” column shows each Contact’s flag, and the “All countries” menu keeps only the Contacts of one country.
From the profile, you can open the conversation and block the Contact. Merging them with another Contact or deleting them is for Admins and the Owner only.
An Agent without the Contacts permission does not see the Contacts list, but still sees the Contact panel in a conversation.
